Why am I watching this?

JWhitfield from , 25th April, 2008

Until now the series was just mediocre but near the end of the first episode on this volume I had this overwhelming feeling of 'Why am I watching this anime?' since they'd spent 20 talking about attacking a seemingly obvious opponant which was inevitably incredibly easy to defeat compared to previous ones. Dissallusioned I watched something else instead which was far more interesting and then after work I watched the final two episodes on the disk, hoping they have some use in putting me to sleep. It's not really a bad anime, but considering I'm a huge fan of giant mecha battles and I still think this is rubbish... it worries me why anybody else can find it so interesting. I'd rather be watching Dai Guard or Gundam Seed. Seed has better battles and Dai Guard is just plain funny.

Starting To Get Interesting

imran from , 26th November, 2004

I've not really been that impressed with this series to be honest, especially considering the way it's been hyped. But the latter part of this DVD starts throwing up some intriguing stuff surrounding the mysterious Angels and the equally mysterious plans of the ice-cool Commander Ikari. Looking forward to the next one.

Great anime

jakeblur from Bedfordshire, 22nd October, 2004

When you first start watching this series you will probably hate this series.

You would be making a very unwise decision. As the series unfolds you start to really care for the lead characters and begin to realise how involving the plot is. You start trying to work out the big picture and then it's too late to stop watching.

This is classic anime and if you love anime you'll love this.
