A science fiction film that won't rock your world by any stretch of the imagination, which is a shame, they could have done a lot more with it, as it has a half decent cast. Basically a group of young Americans with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities are hiding out in the far east from a clandestine U.S. government agency who stalk them continually for their powers. They eventually band together led by Nick Gant (Chris Evans) and Cassie Holmes (Dakota Fanning) and assisted by Kira Hudson ( Camilla Belle) in order to break free from the sinister Henry Carver (Djimon Hounsou) and the agency forever. The problem with it is it's chaotic nature , meandering plot that seems to go nowhere , and it just doesn't hold the interest enough. The special powers they all have look weak bordering on the ridiculous, and you just get the feeling that the whole cast just don't really have their hearts in it. Even the pace was sluggish and at almost two hours I found myself getting increasingly distracted as I tried to keep focused on the mediocre plot. The only two positives were the location which was interesting to look at , and the performance of Ms Fanning who continues to improve as she blossoms into womanhood. She is easily the best thing in it. Don't bother with the cinema for this one, it's a DVD watch and then if there isn't anything else that fires your interest. All in all a wasted opportunity. In a word....................Disappointing.
