John to put the Hurt on Indy?

Screen legend John Hurt has sparked speculation that he plays the villain in the latest Indiana Jones adventure by letting slip that he was in one of the screen dust-ups with co-star Harrison Ford, according to reports.

The gossip hounds at Digital Spy say the accomplished actor, who starred in The Elephant Man, Alien and Midnight Express, told the Times newspaper that Ford "does all his own fights. And I should know, I was in one of them."

Although he appeared to backtrack, adding: "Or then again, was I involved in a fight with him? It's possible that I just watched."

Plot details for the new film, Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, have been closely guarded for months, with Hurt revealing that his script for the movie was hand-delivered from Hollywood.

"A courier dropped it off at three and picked it up at eight. He was probably outside with an eye on the front door during that time," he said.

Hurt plays Professor Oxley in the new movie, a contemporary of the titular Dr Jones who is hunting for the aforementioned Crystal Skull.

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull opens in the UK on May 22nd.
